  1. Three Gorges Dam

    Three Gorges Dam is the worlds largest power producing station located in China. The capacity of the Three Gorges Dam is 22,500 MW and its annual generation is about 98.8 TWh. Three Gorges Dam is a hydro type power station. China Yangtze Power is the owner of this power station.

  2. Itaipu Dam

    Itaipu Dam is the worlds second largest power producing station located on the border between Brazil and Paraguay.The capacity of the Itaipu Dam is 14,000 MW and its annual generation is about 98.63 TWh. Itaipu Dam is a hydroelectric type power station located on Parana river . Itaipu Binacional is the owner of this power station.

  3. Xiluodu

    Xiluodu is the worlds third largest power producing station located in China.The capacity of Xiluodu is 13,860 MW and its annual generation is about 55.2 TWh.  Xiluodu is hydro type power station located on Jinsha river.

  4. Guri

    Guri is the worlds fourth largest power producing station located in Venezuela.The capacity  of Guri is 10,235 MW and its annual generation is about 47 TWh. Guri is hydro type power station located on Caroni river. CVG Electrification del Caroni is the owner of this power station.

  5.  Tucurui

    Tucurui is worlds fifth largest power producing station located in Brazil. The Capacity of Tucurui is 8,370 MW  and its annual generation is about 21.4 TWh. Tucurui is hydroelectric type power station located on Tocantins river.Eletronorte is the owners of this dam.

  6. Kashiwazaki – Kariwa

    Kashiwazaki-Kariwa is the sixth largest power producing station located in Japan.The capacity of the dam is 7,965 MW and its annual generation is about 60.3 TWh. Kashiwazaki-Kariwa is nuclear type of power station .The plant is operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company.

  7. Grand Coulee

    Grand Coulee is the next largest power producing station located in the United States of America. This is the largest power producing plant located on the Columbia River is the state of Washington. The capacity of the Grand Coulee plant is 6,809 MW and its annual generation is about 21 TWh as per the year 2008. Grand Coulee is also a hydro electric type of power station.

  8. Xiangjiaba

    Xiangjaba is a power plant located in China and is a large gravity dam situated on the river Jinsha, which is a tributary of the Yangtze river in the South West China. The capacity of the Xiangjaba is approximately 6,448 MW and the annual generation of the power station is 30.7 TWh. Xiangjaba is also a hydro electric power station.

  9. Longtan

    Longtan is the next largest power plant, which is also located in China approximately in East Asia which is governed by communist party in China. The maximum capacity of Longtan is approximately 6,426 MW and the annual generation is about 18.7 TWh. Longtan is also a hydro electric type power station.

  10. Sayano Shushenskaya

    Sayano Shushenskaya is a hydro electric power station located in the Russia. This is the 10th largest power station when considered all over the world. The capacity of Sayano Shushenskaya is about 6,400 MW with an annual generation of 24.9 TWh as per the year 2013.
